Back from Berlin

Hey guys.
Yeah, it's been a while since I wrote my last post here. As some of you might know I moved to Berlin in March for half a year to work on a shortfilm "Gruffalo" based on the Julia Donaldson's book. I have to say, that I had a blast! Man, I don't even know where all that time flew! I feel like I moved to Berlin yesterday, but now I am already back home in Poland.
I learnt so much over there, but what is way much more important, I met awesome fantastic people over there! Entire Studio Soi team was just amazing! It really felt like home not like a studio to me. Since the main studio is located in Ludwigsburg, we were just a bunch of animators and two directors in Berlin. And we were not like co-workers really, we were more like a group of friends hanging out together after work too! I already miss you guys so much!
I have to thank all of you guys for so many things.
Tobi, man, thanks for everything! I wouldn't be there if not you. I owe you a lot bro and I hope someday I will be able to do the same thing for you.
Thomas, stop complaining about your "mediocre" art like you used to call it. You are one of the most amazing multi talented people I have ever met! And guess what, I am going to receive my drums very soon. Thanks for the lessons ;). If you will go to Australia, have a blast over there man, just have an awesome time, which I am sure you will have!
Alli - dude, you know that you are the positive energy bomb! Thanks for that man. Thanks for all the good time we spent together, all your help and advices animation wise. I am really gonna miss our subway conversations :).
Small Max - haha, dude, thanks for all the feedback and patience when I was asking you all those questions about where things are located on the server etc. And thanks for using orgasmotron on my head from time to time, I really enjoyed that ;), but I was shy to admit it ;))))))))
Pit - I am gonna miss you champ. I still remember the discussion when you said that you are the world champion and how everybody's jaws dropped on the floor :))). It was a real pleasure meeting you Peter, good luck in your animation career, I hope we will have a chance to work together again! Who knows, maybe in Berlin again?
Louis - how's France bro? I am sure you have a lot of fun working on the new project. Gonna miss your fun vibe and accent too :). I still can't pronounce your french "throat Rrrr". LOL.
Uwe - hehe as I already told you, I still have to come for a session and just watch all of your sketchbooks, there is a lot of pure gold inside
Jacob and Big Max - thanks for being awesome directors. It was real pleasure to work with you guys!

I also have to thank you Patrizia! You are an awesome person and I feel extremely lucky that I could be your flat mate for half a year. Thanks for showing me a little bit of Berlin, thanks for our discussions in the kitchen ;). I wish you all the best and I hope everything will work out with your studies. I am already keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Oh boy, it was an awesome ride. I think Berlin changed a lot of things in my life, and it changed me for sure. I could write an entire huge post about things I learnt about animation and working on a project like "The Gruffalo", but I have the feeling that I learnt much more about myself and life, and the way I want to live it. In that way Berlin was an amazing experience and really became my second home. I truly love that city for what it is, mostly for fantastic people.

And here are the photographs of me "working" ;) and the team.

Wow,it's been a while since I did post anything on my blog. But hey, I am alive and I just came back from the great adventure that I had in Berlin! :) For this post I just wanted to share with you guys some gesture sketches I did. I hope you will like them.
